Environmental Stewardship Program...

At ARAMARK Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, we have a deep respect for and commitment to protecting and improving the environment and recognize that the decisions we make today connect us to our future. Everyday we work to reduce our environmental footprint while delivering exceptional operational results, and also offer expertise and practical solutions to our clients to help them reduce their environmental impacts. We work hard everyday to continuously improve our actions towards the environment. Green Thread is the symbol of this commitment, connecting everything we do to the health of our people, our communities and our planet.

Refurbishing and rebranding of Gift Shop
New sustainable lines of clothing have been added including a bamboo, recycled and organic cotton lines. The gift shop consists of 15% sustainable merchandise and is increasing every day.

There are 6 key areas encompassed by Green Thread

  • Sustainable Food (local, organic foods as well as sustainable seafood:
  • Responsible Procurement (all copy paper minimum 30% post consumer content)
  • Waste Management (recycle, reduce, reuse)
  • Energy & Water Conservation (xeriscaping, ozone laundry system, CFL lightbulbs)
  • Green Buildings (solar panels, natural lighting, reclaimed wood)
  • Transportation (minimize shuttle runs and times, hybrid technology where applicable)

We work hard to constantly improve and innovate in these six “pillars”. Being a good environmental steward is never being satisfied with the way things are, but always striving to do just a little bit better.

In 2008 we recycled 11,360 lbs. of plastic, 576,700 lbs. of cardboard, 11,213 lbs. of aluminum and 52,600 lbs of glass.
