Federal Law
requires all employees to provide positive documentation and proof
of eligibility to work in the United States . Upon
arrival, employees must provide original documentation, i.e. Social
Security card, birth certificate, driver’s license, passport. International
students must have a visa allowing work in the U.S. and must have
applied for a Social Security card prior to arriving in the Park. No
person will be employed, transported to the Park or housed without
the required documentation. If
you arrive without your Social Security card, you must apply for a
new card in Flagstaff , AZ or Tuba City , AZ before leaving for the
Park.
Social Security
cards are an ARAMARK payroll requirement. Without
this documentation, you will not be employed, transported to the
Park or housed!
Should I
bring my computer to Wahweap?
Many employees
prefer to have their own computer while here in Wahweap, since we
don’t have any computers available for browsing the internet. We
do have wireless access only in
our recreation center, it is not available in any of our housing
units. ARAMARK Parks and Destinations-Lake Powell will not be held
responsible for any lost items or damage to ANY personal
affects.
Will I
get cell service?
Wahweap does have cell phone reception. While reception can be
spotty and cause dropped calls, there is cell phone coverage. Best
reception will be achieved with Verizon. T-mobile and spint can be
good at times. AT&T has really bad service and hardly works. So if
you have an iPhone, don’t expect it to work well. Other cell phone
companies will be in roaming.
Will
I be able to get mail while I am in Wahweap ?
If you need to
ship some of your belongings to the Park before you arrive, please
send them to:

beach, rent a powerboat, go to other National Parks, and much, much
more!
There are a lot of employee trips planned throughout the season, in
2009 these trips included Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon , Zion and
Flagstaff with lots of other local trips. The employee recreation
center has two tv areas, a Nintendo Wii, pool table, foos ball
table, and a fitness center. We also have movie nights, fitness

Can I get
direct deposit?
We strongly
encourage employees to receive their pay checks via direct deposit. There
are numerous benefits to this. You
get paid faster than receiving a paper check and you will not need
to keep large amounts of cash on you or in your room (especially if
you cash your paycheck).
Direct
Deposit
If you do not
currently have a checking account, open one before you leave for
Wahweap or during your time. Many
banks offer free checking with a direct deposit option. In
order to set up direct deposit, you must provide a blank voided
check or deposit slip to the Human Resources department (no
exceptions). It
will normally take 3-4 pay periods before direct deposit will be
activated. Direct deposit forms can be filled out during your
orientation.

ATM’s in the area?
There are ATM’s
in the area so be sure to bring your card. One is located in the
gift shop at the Lake Powell Resort. All others are located in Page.
Can I cash a
personal check or a paycheck?
We have 2 main
banks in Page, the Bank of the West and Arizona National. There are
also several check cashing facilities in page including Walmart and
a Wells Fargo ATM (across from SafeWay).
NO PERSONAL
CHECKS WILL BE CASHED AT ANY TIME!
How do I pay my security deposit
for housing?
Housing deposits
are $125.00 due in either Cash or Check at the time of move in.
Where
are the closest grocery and shopping areas?

located 6 miles outside of the small town of Page AZ. There is a
Super Walmart, one grocery store, a library, and a variety of
restaurants in town. Flagstaff AZ and St George Utah are the closest
large shopping destinations, each located 2.5-3 hours away.
Where do
I eat?
Wahweap has an
employee cafeteria that is open for 2 meals a day. Lunch from 11-2
and dinner is served from 5-7. Dinner and Lunch offer a daily
special as well as off menu items and salad bar. *Limited hours of
operation are subject to apply during the beginning and end of the
